The St. Thomas Aquinas athletic department announced their updated and completed Sprint Football schedule for the fall of 2019.    In its 2nd season, the Spartans will open play on the road at Navy on Friday evening, September 13th at 7:00 pm.  The following weekend, STAC will play its home opener against Caldwell Univesity on Saturday, September 21st, 2019 at 6:00pm.  St. Thomas Aquinas will once again call the Torne Valley Sports Complex the home of the Spartan Football team. This home game will be the first of four home Sprint Football games for the regular season. The Spartans will also host; Cornell (10/5), Army (10/26) and Chestnut Hill (11/2).  

The Spartans, members of the CSFL North division, will rival opponents including Army West Point, Cornell, Franklin Pierce and Post University, while the South Division includes Caldwell University, Chestnut Hill College, Mansfield University, Navy and UPenn. The league wide bye week will come during Week 5 (Oct. 11th/12th) of the regular season, with the championship game being played the weekend of November 8th-9th between the winners of the South and the North Divisions. That game will be played at the home site of the team ranked overall number 1 headed into the playoff.

Under the helm of Head Coach Matt Barry, the Spartans won their first two games in their inaugural season; beating Post 30-7 on September 15th followed by a 35-21 road win at Caldwell. Coach Barry's squad finished at 2-4 last season and will look to build on their success as the program enters its 2nd season of competition.  STAC will travel to Mansfield (9/28) and Post (10/19) to round out the seven game schedule.
