On Tuesday, the Collegiate Sprint Football League released it's 2021 All-CSFL Team, and St. Thomas Aquinas College is proud to announce that six members of their squad have been selected for postseason honors.

Mahki Matthews (WR) and Tyreke Smith (DL) received First Team All-CSFL honors, with Hassan Blakney (WR), Ali Ajaz (OL) and Malik Lucas (DL) taking home Second Team All-CSFL accolades. Rookie Quarterback Dennis Riordan was also named to the All-CSFL Honorable Mention Team.

The Spartans finished the 2021 campaign with a 2-5 record; which included victories over Alderson Broaddus University (37-0) and Chestnut Hill College (20-10).

All-CSFL First Team

Mahki Matthews (Jr., WR, Kingston, N.Y.) - The go to guy for the STAC QB corps, Matthews led all receivers with 44 receptions for 526 yards, while grabbing 6 TD passes. He averaged 12 yards per catch in 2021.

Tyreke Smith (Sr., DL, Atlanta, Ga.) - A key defensive leader for the Spartans, Smith paced the team with 71 total tackles (51 solo, 20 assist), 16 going for a loss of 83 yards. He also recorded 6.5 sacks and 2 forced fumbles.

All-CSFL Second Team

Hassan Blakney (Fr., WR, Camden, N.J.) - The rookie wideout presented a matchup threat for opponents with his incredible speed and agility, as Blakney recorded 31 receptions for 472 yards, while grabbing 3 TD passes. He averaged 15.2 yards per catch this season.

Ali Ajaz (Sr., OL, Nanuet, N.Y.) - A key participant in protecting his quarterback and blocking for the Spartan running game, Ajaz had an outstanding 2021 campaign.

Malik Lucas (Jr., DL, Bronx, N.Y.) - Another important member of the STAC defense corps, Lukas picked up 33 total tackles (21 solo, 12 assist) with 7.5 going for a loss of 53 yards. He also posted 6.0 sacks on the year.

All-CSFL Honorable Mention Team

Dennis Riordan (Fr., QB, New City, N.Y.) - In his first season leading the Spartan offense, Riordan completed 111 of his 202 pass attempts for 1559 yards (222.7 yards per game), posting 18 touchdowns and 11 interceptions for an NCAA Passer Rating of 138.3 (87.05 NFL).
