St. Thomas Aquinas College Outdoor Track & Field athletes Dante Brown and Rickssen Opont were honored by the East Coast Conference on Monday for their outstanding efforts this past weekend at the Rider University Invitational.
At the Rider Invitational, Brown won the 100m dash with a time of 11.00 and then took second in the long jump with a leap of 7.06m. Dante's work earned him ECC Men's Track Athlete of the Week accolades.
Opont won the shot put with a throw of 16.69m. He also took fourth in the discus (41.97m) and eighth in the hammer (41.12m) at the Rider Invitational, giving Rickssen ECC Men's Field Athlete of the week honors.
St. Thomas Aquinas next competes at the ECC Outdoor Track & Field Championships next Saturday, April 20. The meet will be hosted at Farmingdale State College in Farmingdale, NY
