The St. Thomas Aquinas College Track & Field team racked up 24 All-Conference honors at the East Coast Conference Indoor Track & Field Championships. The first and second team honors added to a successful night in which the men's team finished second and the women's team fifth.
Senior St. Jacob Diodonet led the way for the men's squad, garnering ECC Indoor Track & Field Athlete of the Year honors for the fourth consecutive indoor season, along with three First Team All-Conference awards. Diodonet becomes only the second student-athlete in any conference sport to win the Player/Athlete of the Year honor in each of their four years of eligibility. Meanwhile, sophomore Christina Maretzo and junior Rebecca MacLeod led the women's squad with two All-Conference awards each (1 first team, 1 second team respectively).
Diodonet was also selected as the Men's Most Outstanding Athlete of the ECC Championship. For the fourth straight year, Diodonet was the ECC Champion in both the 200m (21.82) and 400m (48.11) dashes setting meet record times in both events. In addition, he was part of STAC's winning 4x400m relay team (3:22.09) and also had a fifth place showing in the 60m dash (7.10).
