Six Spartans Earn USTFCCCA Outdoor Track & Field All-Region Honors

On Tuesday, the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association announced their 2019 Outdoor Track & Field All-Region teams, and six members of the St. Thomas Aquinas College squad were selected for the prestigious honor in recognition of their outstanding spring seasons.

Senior St. Jacob Diodonet (West Milford, N.J.) led the way for the Spartans, receiving 4 All-East Region honors in the 100, 200 and 400 Meter Dashes, along with the 4x100 Meter Relay team. Sophomore Dante Brown (Nyack, N.Y.) took home 2 All-Region awards for his work in the Long Jump and as a member of the 4x100 Meter Relay team. Redshirt Junior Rickssen Opont (Nyack, N.Y.) receives All-Region recognition for his exceptional season in the Shot Put event. Freshman Jarrett Millien (Paramus, N.J.) and sophomore Jaren Scott (Elmsford, N.Y) each picked up All-Region accolades for their performances as part of the 4x100 Meter Relay team, along with Diodonet and Brown.

On the women's side of the ledger, freshman Duenya Alan (Edingen-Neckarhausen, Germany) received All-East Region honors in the Triple Jump.

Diodonet, Brown, Opont, Millien, Scott and Alan all finished in the top-5 in their respective outdoor events within the East Region this season.

A total of 1831 honors were handed out to USTFCCCA member institutions, which included 926 to men's programs and an additional 905 to women's programs.
