St. Thomas Aquinas College's Aidan Russell, Dante Brown and Abagaile Kimbrell were each named East Coast Conference Indoor Track & Field Athletes of the Week on Monday, after the Spartans competed in the Wagner College Shootout this past Friday at the Ocean Breeze Athletic Complex in Staten Island, NY.
Russell (Sr./Pearl River, NY) clocked the best time in the Mile in the ECC this season with a second place showing at the Seahawk Shootout. He crossed the finish line in a time of 4:31.01 and earned the ECC Men's Indoor Track Athlete of the Week.
Brown (Jr./Nyack, NY) finished in first place in the Long Jump at the Seahawk Shootout with a jump of 7.04m, picking up ECC Men's Indoor Field Athlete of the Week.
Kimbrell (Jr./Monroe, NY) won the Mile at the Seahawk Shootout. She was first across the line in a time of 5:21.54, garnering ECC Women's Indoor Track Athlete of the Week.
The Spartans return to action after the holidays and mandatory NCAA Division II break, as STAC will open 2020 at the Wagner College Invitational on January 3rd. The day's events begin at 1pm at the Ocean Breeze Athletic Complex in Staten Island, NY.
