Spartan Men's Track & Field Ranked 5th, Women's Squad 13th in Final USTFCCCA Division II East Region Indoor Poll

The St. Thomas Aquinas Men's Track & Field team has been ranked 5th, while the Women's squad was ranked 13th in latest the Division II East Region Poll, released by the USTFCCCA on Tuesday afternoon.

As for individual event rankings, Spartan Dante Brown is currently 17th in nation for the Long Jump (7.39m/24'3"), while teammate DeAndre Smith is presently 9th in the nation for the High Jump (2.11m/6'11"). Both athletes have qualified for the NCAA Division II Indoor Track & Field Championships in their respective events. The championships will be held in Birmingham, Alabama on March 13th & 14th.

The Spartans now begin preparations for the upcoming outdoor season, which gets underway in Florida on March 10th with St. Thomas University & Nova Southeastern University Bobcat/Shark Relays. Events begin at 3pm at the Ansin Sports Complex in Miramar, Florida.
