The St. Thomas Aquinas College Track and Field team closed out calendar year 2019 at the Wagner College Shootout at the Ocean Breeze Athletic Complex in Staten Island, NY on Friday afternoon.
The Spartans competed against athletes from several schools such as Manhattanville College, Monmouth University, LIU Brooklyn, Wagner College, and Rutgers University-Camden.
Headlining the performances were Dante Brown's first place finish in the Long Jump with a jump of 7.04m/23'1.25", DeAndre Smith's second place finish in the High Jump with a jump of 2.00m/6'6.75", Aidan Russell's second place finish in the Mile with a time of 4:31.01, Christina Maretzo's first place finish in the 1000 Meter Run in a time of 3:08.30 and Abagaile Kimbrell's first place finish in the Mile with a time of 5:21.54.
The Spartans return to action after the holidays and mandatory NCAA Division II break, as STAC will open 2020 at the Wagner College Invitational on January 3rd. The day's events begin at 1pm at the Ocean Breeze Athletic Complex in Staten Island, NY.
