Spartans Continue to Break Records at Lafayette University Open

Easton, Pa. - The St. Thomas Aquinas College Men's and Women's Track & Field teams continued their record breaking spring campaign on Saturday afternoon at the Lafayette University Open in Pennsylvania.

On the day, the STAC men scored a third place finish, while the Spartan women took sixth.

Headlining the outstanding performances for the men's squad, Emmanuel Mena-Jimenez picked up victories in both the discus (49.84m/163'6") and the hammer throw (50.48m/165'7"). In the discus event, Mena-Jimenez broke the school record, previously held by former Spartan Rickssen Opont. Elizah Gordon scored a first place finish in the 100 meter dash, crossing the finish line in a time of 10.93, while DeAndre Smith won the high jump event, leaping 2.00m/6'6.75".

On the women's side of the ledger, Linise Greene took a third place finish in the 400 meter dash in a time of 1:01.57 and Skylar Moreno finished second in the 400 meter hurdles, crossing the timeline at 1:09.70.

STAC next heads to New Jersey for the Ramapo College Invitational on Friday and Saturday, April 1 & 2 at the college's Athletic Center in Mahwah.
