Spartan Track & Field Stars at Ramapo Invitational, as Men's Team Finishes First and Women Third

Mahwah, N.J. - The St. Thomas Aquinas College Men's and Women's Track & Field program continued to excel both on the track and in field events on Friday and Saturday at the Ramapo College Invitational in New Jersey.

On the weekend, the STAC men finished first, while the Spartan women took third.

Headlining the outstanding performances for the men's squad, Emmanuel Mena-Jimenez picked up victories in both the discus (50.03m) and the hammer throw (51.14m). Elizah Gordon scored a first place finish in the 100 meter dash, crossing the finish line in a time of 10.97, while Andrew Drescher won the 800 meter run in a time of 1:58.03 and DeAndre Smith took the high jump event, leaping 1.97m.

On the women's side of the ledger, Skylar Moreno took a first place finish in the 3000 meter steeplechase in a time of 11:32.95 and the 4x800 meter relay team of Lesly Marcin, Christina Maretzo, Skylar Moreno and Madison Roth finished first, crossing the timeline at 10:01.07.

The Spartans next compete at the Misericordia University Twilight on Tuesday, April 12 at the Anderson Outdoor Athletic Complex in Dallas, Pa.
