STAC Track & Field Athletes Compete in Army West Point Twilight with NCAA Bids in Their Sights

West Point, N.Y. - St. Thomas Aquinas College Track & Field athletes Jayden Bennermon and Emmanual Mena Jimenez competed in the Army West Point Twilight meet on Thursday, as the NCAA Outdoor Track & Field committee begins to review and make decisions on teams and athletes that will represent Division II at its upcoming national championships in Pueblo, Colorado at the end of May.

Both Bennermon and Mena Jimenez have set NCAA Division II provisional measurements in their respective events, the High Jump and Discus, but now it's time to sharpen skills, increase distances and hopefully secure a spot at the national championships by moving up the rankings.

On the day, Jayden and Emmanuel, once again, hit their NCAA marks. Bennermon finished first in the high jump with a leap of 2.08m (6'9.75"), while Mena Jimenez took fourth in the discus with a throw of 51.49m (168'11").

Now, both athletes wait for official word from Indianapolis and NCAA headquarters, as the Division II Men's and Women's Outdoor Track & Field field of competitors will be released on Tuesday, May 16.
