STAC Track & Field Returns to Action at Wagner Invitational

Staten Island, N.Y. - Returning to action for the first time in three weeks due to the holiday break, the St. Thomas Aquinas College Indoor Track & Field team competed in the Wagner College Invitational on Friday at the Ocean Breeze Athletic Complex on Staten Island.

Battling opponents from Divisions I, II and III; the Spartans saw outstanding performances from Jayden Bennermon, who placed fourth in the High Jump with a leap of 1.95m (6'4.75") and Skylar Moreno, who finished seventh in the 800 meter run, with a time of 2:26:89.

Emmanuel Mena Jimenez once again had a record setting day, as the West Haverstraw, N.Y. native set a new STAC standard in the Weight Throw, with a first place toss of 18.40m/60'4.5"). Mena Jimenez now ranks #15 in NCAA Division II for the event.

STAC will next host its annual Spartan Invitational, which takes place on Friday, January 13 at the Ocean Breeze Athletic Complex on Staten Island. Events are scheduled to get underway beginning at 12:00 p.m.

High Jump: Nicole Gysin - 1.45m/4'9" (10th Place)
