Spartans' Sadler Selected As Met Basketball Writers D2 Player of the Week

St. Thomas Aquinas Women's Basketball player Melissa Sadler was named the Metropolitan Basketball Writers Association Division II Player of the Week on Tuesday, following the Spartans final two games of 2019, last week.

Sadler averaged 13.5 points and 4.5 rebounds per game, as the Spartans fell at Southern Connecticut State University, 65-63 and were victorious at Mercy College, 79-48. The senior forward from Milton, NY shot 44% from the field (11-for-25) and was a perfect 5-for-5 from the free-throw line, while picking up an assist, 2 steals and a block over her two games played.

The 10-2 Spartans return to action in 2020 with five of their first six games at Aquinas Hall. They will host USciences for a big regional showdown on Friday, January 3, before New Haven (January 8) and Molloy (Jan 11) pay a visit.
