Adams Named Co-Player of the Year, Sadler First Team by Met Writers

Senior Ruth Adams was named Co-Player of the Year and Senior Missy Sadler earned First Team honors for Division II from the Met Basketball Writers' Association. Adams received Co-Player kudos along with Adelphi's Leonie Edringer.

The dynamic seniors played an integral role in leading the Spartans to a 21-7 overall record, along with a 13-3 East Coast Conference mark which was good enough for a share of the conference's Regular Season Championship, along with Daemen College.

Adams previously received high kudos from both the D2CCA, as she was tabbed as an All-East Region First Team selection, and the ECC in its post-season awards, being named the Player of the Year to go along with Defensive Player of the Year and First Team All-Conference honors. Averaging 14.5 points per game, Ruth led STAC in scoring and was second overall in the league. Her 2.2 steals per game ranked second on the team and placed third among ECC competitors.

Sadler also earned First Team status from the ECC to go along with her addition to the All-Met squad. She was also a dominant force on a talented squad, placing second on the team with 12.9 points per game while finishing third with 5.5 rebounds per contest. Her 50.3 shooting percentage was tied for third in the conference, with teammate Adams.
