Women's Hoops Rolls to 3rd Straight Win, 96-58, over Bloomfield

The St. Thomas Aquinas College women's basketball team cruised to a 96-58 decision over Bloomfield College in a non-conference contest at Aquinas Hall. The Spartans remain perfect at 3-0 on the season, with Bloomfield remaining winless at 0-3.

East Coast Conference Player of the Week Zaria Thomas drained a pair of quick threes as STAC bolted to a 10-2 lead less than four minutes into the game, but the offense stumbled as the lead remained at 15-7 after one quarter. Any thoughts of a Bloomfield comeback vanished in the first 3:20 of the second quarter, as Missy Sadler netted six points in a 16-2 explosion, giving the Spartans a commanding 31-9 lead from which they never looked back.

Ruth Adams turned in a dominant performance in leading four STAC scorers in double figures, pouring in 19 points and clearing 11 rebounds in just 18 minutes of court time. Thomas had seven steals to go with her 15 points, and Sadler and Emily Preston chipped in with 10 each. Jaylah Bennett led the way for the Bears with 15 points.

The Spartans play their next two on the road, starting with a big East Region showdown at Pace University on Saturday, November 16 at 1:30 pm. They then travel to take on Georgian Court on Wednesday, November 20 before returing to Aquinas Hall to host Caldwell for a 1:00 pm tip on Saturday, November 23.
