Spartans Fall To Chargers, 71-52 to Close 2021 STAC Conference Challenge

Sparkill, N.Y. – The St. Thomas Aquinas College Women's Basketball team fell to Dominican College on Saturday afternoon at Aquinas Hall by the score of 71-52.

After Dominican ran out of the gates, taking a 20-6 advantage in the opening quarter, STAC was able to get their offense going, scoring 18 points in the second stanza. However, the relentless Charger attack would continue to churn out scoring, giving DC a 44-24 lead at the half. The Spartans returned from the break with a new found energy and played even with the visitors, with each team posting 15 points in the third quarter. The team's newfound success would carry over into the final quarter of play, as St. Thomas Aquinas would outscore Dominican 13-12. Unfortunately, DC's large first half margin would be enough to propel them to victory.

Chanel Brodeur-Muir was STAC's leading scorer with 11 points. The Chargers finished with three players in double-digits: Taylor Tominson (18), Alexis Suarez (13) and Khay'la Latimer (11).
