Sparkill, N.Y.  - Five St. Thomas Aquinas College Basketball student-athletes were named to the 2022-2023 Academic All-District Team on Tuesday, as selected by the College Sports Communicators (formerly CoSIDA).
 
Men's Basketball junior Jamal Barnes (Temple Hills, Md.), along with women's basketball sophomores Sarah Ericson (Norwich, Conn.) & Erin Leary (Carle Place, N.Y.) and juniors Angelique Holguin (Perth Amboy, N.J.) & Karolina Jaruseviciute (Jackson, N.J.) picked up their first career Academic All-District honors.
 
Academic All-District teams recognize the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances in academics and athletics.
 
Honorees advance to the CSC Academic All-America ballot. First-, second- and third-team Academic All-America honorees will be announced in March. 
 
For the maroon and gold, Barnes majors in Marketing while minoring in Psycholgy, Ericson currently studies Communication Arts, Leary majors in Childhood Education, Holguin currently studies Therapeutic Recreation and Jaruseviciute majors in Biochemistry.
