Women's Bowling Returns to Action at Wagner College Seahawks Invite, Ashley Sena Named to All-Tournament Team

Staten Island, N.Y. - The St. Thomas Aquinas College Women's Bowling team returned to action, following the holiday break, at the Wagner College Seahawks Invite on Saturday and Sunday at Rab's Country Lanes on Staten Island. The Spartans went 0-10 in the two-day tournament, finishing with a total pinfall of 7,492, averaging 149.8 per game.

In traditional play on Saturday, STAC fell to Wagner College (832-746), Morgan State University (828-720), St. Francis College (Brooklyn) (771-680), Saint Francis University (PA) (798-792) and Molloy College (780-722).

The second day saw the competition turn to Baker format. St. Thomas Aquinas went 0-5 in those matchups, as Caldwell University (825-736), Adelphi University (864-733), Wagner College (831-714), Morgan State University (898-887) and St. Francis College (Brooklyn) (885-762) all registered wins against the maroon and gold on Sunday.

Individually, freshman Ashley Sena (Garnerville, N.Y.) shined on the lanes, as she finished fourth overall in the 2-day event with a total pinfall of 943, averaging 188.6 per game. Sena was named to the All-Tournament team in recognition of her outstanding performance.

St. Thomas Aquinas will next compete at the Westchester Community College Shoot Out on Saturday, January 29 at Schneider's Fishkill Bowl in Fishkill, NY. and then take part in the Westchester Community College Invitational II on Sunday, January 30 at Spins Bowl Carmel in Carmel, NY.
