The St. Thomas Aquinas College basketball program teamed up with the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) to collect donations for Toys for Tots. Each year the two organizations join forces to try to enhance the holiday season of children in need. Donations were collected at two home basketball contests as well as on campus throughout the past two weeks. All donations were given to the Rockland Country Marine Corp League. The mission of the U.S. Marine Corps Reserve Toys for Tots Program is to collect new, unwrapped toys during October, November and December each year and distribute those toys as Christmas gifts to needy children in the community.
The St. Thomas Aquinas Women's Basketball Team is the first annual East Coast Conference Academic Team of Excellence Award recipient. This award is presented to the team with the highest cumulative grade point average in their respective sport.

Kaitlyn Lonergan, of the Lady Spartan Lacrosse team, has been named the East Coast Conference Rookie of the Week. This is the fourth time this season that she has received this accolade along with being named the Goalkeeper of the week on two occasions.

Seniors Johannah Mitchell and Kelsey Hall each scored two goals on their senior day game, while Steph Brown played a strong defensive game. Mitchell added two assists as well. Kelly Kucinski led the way with 4 goals and Victoria Gregson had 3 assists and 1 goal.

The St. Thomas Aquinas Women’s Lacrosse Team took part in the Out of the Darkness Walk to Save Lives on Sunday at Rockland Lake State Park. The Lady Spartans joined a larger group that was walking in honor of head coach Stephanie Hopkins’s father and helped to raise over $1,600 that will be used to increase awareness of suicide prevention.
