Spartans Win Two in a Row; Topping Roberts Wesleyan, 14-10

The St. Thomas Aquinas women's lacrosse team beat Roberts Wesleyan, 14-10 on Friday afternoon. Kellie Kucinski and Samantha Lowney lead the STAC offense with five and four goals respectively. Courtney McGrath and Genevieve Stickney each added two goals with McGrath contributing 4 assists to their attack.  

The Redhawks got off to an early start scoring the first two goals of the game before Stickney put the Spartans on the scoreboard with a free position shot. Lowney and Kucinski each added a first half goal as STAC was trailing 5-3 at the break.  

The Spartans regrouped and scored eight unanswered goals to start the second half, with Kucinski scoring four of them, including her 100th career goal at St. Thomas Aquinas. Lowney added three consecutive goals in the final minutes of play to help secure the win for STAC. Kaitlyn Lonergan had 7 saves for the Spartans who are now 2-1 in ECC play. Loren Dunn had three goals for the Redhawks. 

The Spartans will host Wilmington on Tuesday at 4:00 pm.
