Ravens Squeeze Past Spartans in OT, 10-9

The St. Thomas Aquinas women's lacrosse team dropped a hard fought game against Franklin Pierce, 10-9 in overtime.  Caroline Finnen and Marist Par each scored three goals for the Spartans.  

STAC opened up the scoring with goals from Par and Sabrina Prestano in the first three minutes of action.  The Ravens answered with the next four goals to take a 4-2 lead at 6:52.  Caitlyn Sweeney had two goals in that stretch.  
Finnen scored her first goal off an assist from Courtney Dumain and Par added another goal to tie things back at 4.  FPU scored the last three goals of the half to take a 7-4 lead into the break.  
The Spartans control most of the second half scoring the first four goals; two from senior Ruth Pluviose.  Dumain added two more assists as the Spartans regained the lead 8-7.   Both teams then exchanged goals to finish out regulation tied at 9.  
Sweeney came up big once again for the Ravens scoring in overtime to give FPU the 10-9 win.  
Sweeney finished with five goals for the game.  Caitlyn Lonergan had 9 saves for the Spartans.  
STAC will return to action on Saturday when they host Southern Connecticut for a noon game.
