Spartans Hold On For 9-7 Win Over Southern Connecticut

The St. Thomas Aquinas women's lacrosse team beat Southern Connecticut, 9-7 on Saturday afternoon.  Ruth Pluviose paced the Spartans with four goals.  Kaitlyn Lonergan had 11 saves for STAC.  

The Spartans opened the game with goals from Marist Par and Pluviose to take a 2-0 lead.  The Owls evened things out with two goals of their own to tie the game at the 13:19 mark.  Pluviose struck again with two more goals sandwiched around a goal from Caroline Finnen.  Courtney Dumain added the assist on Finnen's goal.  

Alyson Brennan scored her first two goals of the season for the Spartans as she chipped in back to back goals to end the first half.  The Spartans took an 8-4 lead into the second half and received two more goals from Pluviose and Par.  Southern Connecticut scored the final two goals of the game to bring them within two as the Spartans held on for the win.  

Nicole Healey had two goals and one assist for the Owls.  STAC will return to action on Saturday, March 26th, when they host Philadelphia University at noon.
