The St. Thomas Aquinas women's lacrosse team fell to NYIT, 16-3 on Saturday afternoon. Caroline Finnen scored two goals for the Spartans while Danielle Heady added one.
NYIT got off to a strong start scoring the first four goals of the game. Finnen's goal off a free position shot gave the Spartans thier only goal of the first half. The Bears took a 10-1 lead into the break and contiue their attack into the second half.
NYIT outscored the Spartans 6-2 in the second half and held a 33-17 shot advantage for the game. Laura Delorenzo had 8 saves in goal for the Spartans. The Spartans will return to action on Thursday when they travel to Mercy College. Game time is slated for 4:00 p.m.
