The St. Thomas Aquinas women's lacrosse team beat Queens College, 14-6 on Saturday afternoon. Alyson Brennan and Jennifer Farrell each scored 3 goals and added 1 assist.
The Spartans fell behind early giving up two goals in the opening minutes of action. Caroline Finnen scored the Spartans first goal and the first of her three off a free position shot at the 25:40 mark. The Knights added another goal to give them a 3-1 lead.
Danielle Heady and Erin Sleurs added two more goals for the Spartans to tie the game 3-3. Patriece Ausili scored her second goal for the Knights to give Queens their final lead, 4-3. Samantha Rifice tied the game one final time with the her goal at the 14:45 mark. Finnen and Farrell added back to back goals before one final goal from the Knights and the Spartans held a 6-5 lead at the half.
The Spartans dominated the second half outscoring the Knights 8-1. STAC held a 35-13 shots advantage. Laura Delorenzo recorded three saves in the win. The Spartans wrap up the regular season 5-11 and 3-5 in the ECC.
