Spartans Fall to Warriors, 15-7

The St. Thomas Aquinas women's lacrosse team lost to East Stroudsburg on Wednesday afternoon, 15-7.  Alyson Brennan scored three goals for the Spartans.

Both teams exchanged goals in the early part of the first half, with Kaitlyn Gutenberger scoring the Spartans first goal of a free position shot.  Brennan scored the Spartans second goal off an assist from Caroline Finnen to tie the game at 2-up.  

The Warriors outscored the Spartans 8-2 from that point on taking a 10-4 lead into the break. Caroline Finnen and Danielle Heady each scored for the Spartans.  

Brennan added two second half goals and Jennifer Farrell scored one.  Laura Delorenzo had eight saves in the loss.  ESU had a 28-11 advantage in shots, a 16-8 margin in draw controls and committed fewer turnovers (24-21). 

The Spartans will be back in action on Wednesday when they travel to New Haven for a 4:00 p.m. game.
