Lions Top Spartans in Women's Lacrosse, 13-8

The St. Thomas Aquinas women's lacrosse team lost to Molloy College, 13-8 on Saturday afternoon.  Caroline Finnen scored four goals for the Spartans while Kaitlyn Gutenberger added three.  

The Lions got off to a strong start scoring the first five goals of the game before Gutenberger put the Spartans on the scoreboard.  Both teams exchanged goals after that with Finnen scoring for the Spartans to make the score 6-2 at the half.  

The Spatans outscored the home team 3-2 in the opening ten minutes of the second half with Finnen added two more goals and one from Danielle Cajou.  The Lions were able to hold the Spartans off outscoring them 5-3 in the final ten minutes of action.    

Cajou scored one goal and added one assist for STAC.  Katherine Feigenbaum had 18 saves in the loss for the Spartans.  Molloy held a 42-23 shots advantage and had eight fewer turnovers than the Spartans, 22-14.  

STAC will return to action on Saturday, March 31st when they host Mercy College at noon.
