The St. Thomas Aquinas women's lacrosse team lost to Merrimack College, 22-9 on Sunday afternoon. Jennifer Farrell had 3 goals and 1 assist while Kaitlyn Gutenberger added 2 goals and 2 assists.
Gabrielle Di Fusco scored the first goal of the game to give STAC its only lead, 1-0. DiFusco added a second towards the end of the first half. Merrimack was ahead 16-5 at the break. Caroline Finnen and Arielle Rodriguez each added a goal for the Spartans. Bridget Schofield had 5 goals and 1 assist for the visiotrs. Merrimack held a slight 17-16 edge in draw controls but had 15 more shots than the Spartans.
Laura Delorenzo had 1 save in the loss while Katherine Feigenbaum had 7 saves sharing minutes in goal. The Spartans will return to action on Tuesday when they host Wilmington. Game time is slated for 3:00 p.m.
