Spartans Stun Nyack, 21-6

The St. Thomas Aquinas women's lacrosse team beat Nyack College, 21-6. Caroline Finnen recorded a team high 8 goals. Jennifer Farrell and Caitlin Verber added 4 goals each; while Farrell distributed two assists.  Farrell put the Spartans on the scoreboard first with her goal at 23:35 but Nyack responded with a goal from Tori Silvers to tie things up.  

The Spartans scored the next four goals, two more from Farrell, to give them a 5-1 lead that they would build on going forward.  The visitors continued to fight throughtout the first half but the Spartans took an 11-5 lead into the break.  Finnen scored six of her eight goals in the first half.  The second half also belonged to the Spartans as they outscored Nyack 10-1.  STAC had eight different goal scorers throughout the game and had a 48-17 shots advantage over Nyack.  

The Warriors were lead by Melissa Clapsaddle's four goals while Silvers added two.  Emily Glennon scored a goal for the Spartans and had a team high five assists.  Melissa Gabay picked up the win in goal with two saves.  Katherine Feigenbaum and Laura Delorenzo also saw minutes in goal recording two and one saves respectively.  

The Spartans will return to action on Monday when they play at Franklin Pierce at 4:00 p.m.
