Spartans Pick Up 18-10 Win At Bridgeport

The St. Thomas Aquinas women's lacrosse team earned a hard fought 18-10 win over the University of Bridgeport. Caroline Finnen scored six goals and one assist while Danielle Cajou scored four goals.

Both teams exchanged goals early on with Finnen scoring three of the Spartans first goals, two assists from Kaitlyn Gutenberger and one from Gabrielle Di Fusco.  With both teams tied up 4-4, the Spartans outscored the Purple Knights, 6-1 to close out the half up 10-5.  Finnen scored all six of her goals in the first half.  Arielle Rodriguez added two first half goals along with Cajou.  

DiFusco and Cajou scored the first to goals of the second half and the Purple Knights never got any closer.  STAC scored four straight goals in the final ten minutes of action to give themselves a comfortable lead.  Gutenberger added two goals in that stretch.  Katherine Feigenbaum earned the win in goal while recording fourteen saves.  

The Spartans will return to action on Saturday when they host Queens College at 12:00 p.m.  Saturday's game will be the senior day game for the Spartans seniors.
