Spartans Beat Wilmington, 16-12 in Women's Lacrosse

The St. Thomas Aquinas women's lacrosse team beat Wilmington College, 16-12. Caroline Finnen broke a school record with a career high 10 goals in today's game.

The Spartans got off to a strong start scoring the first six goals of the game before taking a 10-2 lead into halftime.  Jennifer Farrell and Gabrielle Di Fusco each added two first half goals along with one from Caitlin Verber.  Finnen had five goals in each half for the Spartans.  

The visitors outscored the Spartans 10-6 in the second half.  Kaitlyn Gutenberger scored a second half goal for the Spartans along with Finnen's five. Wilmington topped the Spartans 19-12 in draw controls while STAC won 28-14 of the ground balls.  

Katherine Feigenbaum had the win in goal with 12 saves for the Spartans.  STAC will return to action on Saturday, March 3rd when they travel to NYIT for a 12:00 game.
