Gutenberger Scores Her 100th Career Goal in Spartans Win Over Chargers, 19-13

The St. Thomas Aquinas women's lacrosse team beat cross-town rival Dominican College, 19-13 on Monday afternoon. Kaitlyn Gutenberger lead the way for the Spartans with 8 goals, including her 100th career goal.

Both teams exchanged early goals with Arielle Rodriguez scoring the Spartans first goal on a free position shot.  Gutenberger's first goal of the game and 100th of her career came at the 20:29 mark to pull the Spartans within one, 3-2.  The teams continued their back and forth battle throughout the first half with the Chargers holding a 7-6 lead at the break.  

The first ten minutes of the second half leaned in the favor of the visitors, as Dominican scored five goals to the Spartans two.  Down 12-8, with twenty minutes remaining in the game the Spartans run began.  STAC scored ten straight goals including four from Gutenberger and two from Leanna Iobbi during that stretch.  Iobbi finished with four goals including three in STAC's powerful second half to secure the win.  

Katherine Feigenbaum recorded 19 saves earning her 8th win of the season.  The Spartans are now 8-7 overall and will travel to Mercy on Saturday for an 11:00 am game.
