Spartans Dominate Knights, 18-6

The St. Thomas Aquinas women's lacrosse team beat Queens, 18-6 on Saturday afternoon. Kaitlyn Gutenberger and Gabrielle Di Fusco each scored four goal apiece.

The Spartans dominated the first half receiving early goals from Di Fusco and Arielle Rodriguez to take a 2-0 lead.  The Knights scored their first goal from Maggie Iavarone before STAC tallied four more goals to extend their lead, 6-1.  Leanna Iobbi scored two goals during that stretch and finished with three goals and one assist.  

The Spartans held a 20-12 shot advantage in the first half receiving goals from six different players.  Jennifer Farrell scored two of her three goals in the first half while Emily Glennon recorded two goals. 

Katherine Feigenbaum tallied eight saves in the win including her 250th career save. Feigenbaum is currently ranked 3rd in the ECC in saves.  The Spartans outscored Queens 5-1 in the second half with Gutenberger doing most of the work recording three goals.  

The Spartans are 7-7 overall and 2-4 in ECC play and will return to action on Monday when they host Dominican at 3:00 p.m.
