Spartans Win Second Straight With 18-6 Road Win at UDC

The St. Thomas Aquinas women's lacrosse team beat UDC, 18-6 on Saturday afternoon. Kaitlyn Gutenberger and Gabrielle Di Fusco paced the Spartans offense with six and five goals respectively.

The Spartans dominated from the start scoring the games first nine goals.  The Firebirds had no answer for Gutenberger as she scored all six of her goals in that opening stretch.  Di Fusco added two early goals and Emily Glennon chipped in one.  UDC scored back to back goals midway through the first half but the Spartans closed out with five more goals to lead 14-2 at the break.  

Both teams scored four goals each in the second half with the Spartans holding a strong 31-12 advantage in shots.  Abby Fitzgerald scored two goals for the Spartans while Leanne Iobbi, Kayla Caprara, Arielle Rodriguez and Jennifer Farrell each added one.  Katherine Feigenbaum recorded her 5th win of the season with four saves in goal.  The Spartans are now 5-5 overall and 1-2 in conference play.  

STAC will return to action on Saturday, April 6th when they host the University of Bridgeport at 11:00 am.
