Spartan Recruit Report: Women's Lacrosse Adds Six to its Ranks for 2020-2021 Season

The St. Thomas Aquinas College Women's Lacrosse team welcomes six new athletes for the Fall 2020 Semester, which begins in September. The Spartans had their 2019-2020 season halted in early March due to the COVID-19 pandemic, but they were able to post a 5-2 record before the stoppage, which included wins over Holy Family, Saint Rose, Post (CT), Caldwell and Chestnut Hill. The Spartans graduated five seniors; Jennifer Farrell, Meaghan Burke, Kaitlyn Gutenberger, Alyssa DeSimone and Laura Delorenzo, however a few of these familiar faces could possibly return as a result of graduate school and the NCAA's decision to give spring athletes an extra year of eligibility due to the coronavirus health emergency.

"This is a very exciting time to be a Spartan. Before our season came to an abrupt end due to the pandemic, there was a lot of positive energy and momentum amongst our players. We were 5-2 and just approaching the halfway point of the season with conference games on the horizon and a possible chance at a postseason berth. While the way the 2019-2020 season ended was disappointing, the coaching staff has continued to work its hardest to bring the best students and the most talented athletes on board in order to further strengthen our program for not only 2020-21, but for many years to come", commented the Women's Lacrosse coaching staff.
