Kaitlyn Gutenberger's 7-Goal Game, Lifts Spartans to 19-15 Victory over Holy Family in 2020 Season Opener

The St. Thomas Aquinas College Women's Lacrosse team picked up a 19-15 victory over Holy Family University on Thursday afternoon in the team's 2020 season opener

Kaitlyn Gutenberger lit the lamp seven times for the Spartans, while Arielle Rodriguez scored four times and Jennifer Farrell tallied goals on three occasions. In addition, Samantha Cerrato picked two goals and Jennifer Stevens, Leanna Iobbi, and Lisa Larsson picked up a goal apiece. Laura Delorenzo (W, 1-0) got the start between the pipes for STAC and made 17 saves on the day.

Holy Family's scoring was led by Courtney Wolf with four goals, followed up by McKenzie Santucci and Tatceyana Pulley with three goals each. Lynn Hardy and Casey Brown (2 goals apiece) and Emily Dalton (1 goal) also contributed to the scoring for the Tigers. Goalie Caitlyn Musick nod in the cage and stopped 8 of 27 shots faced. 

Shots for the game were 38 (32 on goal) for the Tigers and 33 (27 on goal) for STAC.

St. Thomas Aquinas (1-0) hosts the College of Saint Rose at Spartan Field on Sunday, February 23rd, in the team's home opener. Opening faceoff is scheduled for 12pm.
