Women's Lacrosse Opens Spring Break Florida Trip with 19-9 Setback to Saint Anselm

The St. Thomas Aquinas College Women's Lacrosse team opened their 2-game Florida Spring Break trip, falling to Saint Anselm College 19-9 at Northeast Regional Park in Davenport, FL on Saturday afternoon.

Leanna Iobbi led the way for the Spartans, tallying four goals on the afternoon, while Jennifer Farrell chipped in two goals and assisted on two others. Arielle Rodriguez, Lisa Larsson and Kaitlyn Gutenberger also contributed to the STAC offense with one goal apiece. Laura Delorenzo got the start in net, but suffered her first defeat of 2020, falling to 4-1 on the season. Delorenzo stopped 15 of 34 shots faced.

Leading the Hawks offense were Annie Richards, Brenda Holland and Jenna Balboni with three goals each and Kelsey Czarnota with 2 goals. Alexa Palmisano, Ally Irish, Sarah Morey, Ellie Richards, Annabelle Harrington, Taylor Cobain, McKenzie Robinson and Meghan Cotraro netted one goal apiece. Saint Anselm goalie Grace Young remained undefeated at 4-0 on the year, making 9 saves enroute to victory.

Shots for the game were 45 (34 on goal) for Saint Anslem and 21 (18 on goal) for STAC.

St. Thomas Aquinas (4-1) wraps up their Florida tour facing off with Stonehill College on Monday, March 9th at Balmoral Resort in Haines City, FL. Opening draw is set for 10am.
