Women's Lacrosse Wins Third Straight, 15-8 over Post University

The St. Thomas Aquinas College Women's Lacrosse team picked their third consective victory, a 15-8 win over Post University on Tuesday afternoon at Spartan Field in Sparkill, NY.

Kaitlyn Gutenberger tallied four goals and three assists on the afternoon for the Spartans, while Leanna Iobbi scored four times and added an assist and Jennifer Farrell lit the lamp on three occasions, in addition to picking up three helpers. Other STAC scorers included; Jennifer Stevens (2 goals), Arielle Rodriguez (1 goal) and Casey Hannon (1 goal & 1 assist). Laura Delorenzo (W, 3-0) got the start in the cage for STAC and made 10 saves on the day, before being replaced by Samantha Bates late in the second half. Bates stopped 4 of 5 shots faced in the final 3:46 of action.

Post's scoring was led by Cara DiStefano, Aolani Hermosura and Jaylene Souto with two goals each. Hailey McHenry and Lauren Chambers also contributed to the scoring for the Eagles with one goal apiece. Goalie Christina Badaracco (L, 0-3) got the nod in net for Post and stopped 15 shots faced.

Shots for the contest were 38 (30 on goal) for STAC and 28 (22 on goal) for Post.

St. Thomas Aquinas (3-0) hosts Caldwell University at Spartan Field on Tuesday, March 3rd, with the opening draw set for 3pm.
