After Strong Start, Women's Soccer Drops 2-0 Decision at Bloomfield

The St. Thomas Aquinas College women's soccer team fell to a 2-0 defeat in a non-conference battle at Bloomfield College. The Spartans are now 1-11-1 overall while Bloomfield stands at 1-12-1.

Coming off Saturday's 9-1 rout at Lincoln University, STAC maintained control in the first half to the tune of a dominant 13-1 advantage on shots. Despite the opportunities, the Spartans put just three of those shots on frame and Bloomfield escaped with a 0-0 tie at intermission. The Bears turned the tables after the break, however, getting on the board with Jirvaj Breeyana's goal at 71:34. Breeyana then added the insurance tally at 76:44 to close out the scoring despite being outshot by a 16-8 total on the afternoon.

The Spartans play three of their final four games at home, starting on Saturday, October 26, when Queens College visits Spartan Field for an East Coast Conference affair starting at 11:00 am. The following Saturday, November 2, STAC hosts Nyack on Senior Day and after a trip to Pace University (November 5), they will wrap things up with another ECC tilt hosting Daemen on November 9.
