STAC Women's Soccer Shut Down in 2-0 Loss at NYIT

The St. Thomas Aquinas College women's soccer team dropped a 2-0 East Coast Conference decision at NYIT on Saturday afternoon. The Spartans dropped to 0-7-1 overall on the season and 0-2-1 in the ECC, while Tech now stands at 2-3-2, 2-0-1.

NYIT jumped in front quickly as Casey Luongo hit the net after 15:50 played, on an assist from Victoria Gonzalez. Though they added a late insurance goal on a penalty kick tally from Carla Le Flohic Sabe at 82:30, it was almost irrelevant as the Spartans were stifled by the Bears' defense, being held to just three shots for the entire game, with only one on goal. Colleen Stevens kept her team in the game until those final minutes with seven saves as STAC was outshot by a 14-3 margin on the day.

The Spartans are home for a non-conference tilt this Tuesday, October 8, hosting Southern New Hampshire University in a 2:30 pm start, before hitting the road for their next four straight.
