STAC Women's Soccer Battles to Scoreless Draw with Bloomfield

Bloomfield, N.J. - The St. Thomas Aquinas College Women's Soccer team battled to a scoreless draw with Bloomfield College, in non-conference action, on Tuesday evening at Foley Field.

The stalemate pushes STAC to 2-6-1, while Bloomfield moves to 1-5-3.

HOW IT HAPPENED

  • Sophomore Emily Ras led STAC with three shots in the first half. Ras and teammate Chloe Fletcher put the only strikes on frame, with Bears keeper Mia Phillip late in the opening half.
  • Senior Colette Martucci and Ras led their squad with two shots on goal each in the match.
  • Joining Martucci and Ras with quality scoring attempts for the Spartans were Fletcher (1), Kaitlyn Maguire (1) and Arianna Tribble (1).

GAME NOTES

  • STAC outshot Bloomfield 16-7, including seven on net.
  • The Spartans were awarded the only corner kick of the match in the 23rd minute.
  • Senior goalkeeper Colleen Stevens (T, 2-2-1) made four saves to earn the shutout.
