Sparkill, N.Y. - The St. Thomas Aquinas College Women's Soccer team battled to a hard-fought scoreless draw with Holy Family University, in non-conference action, on Thursday afternoon at Spartan Field.
The stalemate pushes STAC to 0-1-2, while Holy Family moves to 0-1-1.
How it Happened
- Freshman Ninni Ringstad and Junior Kaitlyn Maguire led STAC with two shots apiece in the first half, with each making its way on frame. Seniors Natalie Oden and Kara Hill and Junior Sarai Rodriguez accounted for three additional shots, as the Spartans outshot the Tigers 7-5 through the first 45 minutes of action.
- Ringstad tallied a team-high three shots in the match, with all three hitting getting on net. Rodriguez, Hill, Oden, Maguire and sophomore Catalena Robson each accounted for two shots taken.
- Quality scoring chances from freshman Amalie Steen (1), along with Kara Hill (1), Natalie Oden (1), Kaitlyn Maguire (2), Ninni Ringstad (3), senior Olivia Gaillard (1) and Robson (1) were all turned away by Holy Family keeper Jaina Preuhs (T, 0-1-1).
