Women's Tennis Wins Fifth Straight, Downing Division I Merrimack, 6-1

Orlando, Fla. - The St. Thomas Aquinas College Women's Tennis team took its current winning streak to five games with an outstanding performance against Division I Merrimack College on Friday, as the Spartans downed the Warriors 6-1.

Merrimack opened things up taking two out of three matchups to secure the team doubles point, before the Spartans rallied to sweep all six singles contests to win the overall match. Elita Silins beat Ashley Stefanik (6-0, 6-0), Samanta Villegas Robles defeated Hope Salts (6-1, 6-0), Karina Blas dispatched Nikala Tuffanelli (6-2, 6-2), Viktoriia Pavlovets bested Rosemary Campanella (6-2, 0-6, 1-0 (2)), Paula Palero defeated Sophie Thoring (6-2, 6-0) and Ebba Rosberg closed things out with a 1-6, 6-2, 1-0 (6) win over Dzhastina Mikhnova.
