#2 STAC To Host #3 Wilmington in NCAA Division II Women's Tennis East Regional

The St. Thomas Aquinas College Women's Tennis team has earned the #2 seed and hosting duties in the upcoming 2024 NCAA Division II Women's Tennis Championship East Regional Round of 32, and will take on #3 seeded Wilmington University (Del.).

Hosting an East Regional match for a second straight year, the Spartans will be looking to advance to back-to-back championship finals in the round of 16.

STAC finished the 2023-2024 regular season with a 15-6 overall record and a 4-1 ECC mark. The maroon and gold won its second straight East Coast Coast Conference Tournament crown in program history.

The Spartans and Wildcats (16-5, 9-1 CACC) faced off against each other just once during the 2023-24 regular season, with STAC defeating Wilmington (Del.), 5-2 at the Riley Family Tennis Courts. The squads have faced each other just three times going back to the 2021-22 season. STAC currently holds a 2-1 advantage in those matchups.

Preliminary Round matches will begin on May 10-11 at top-seeds Queens College (QC Tennis Bubble - Flushing, N.Y.) and St. Thomas Aquinas (Yonkers Tennis Center - Yonkers, N.Y.). The winner of #4 District of Columbia vs. #5 Adelphi will play #1 Queens, while the winner of #3 Wilmington (Del.) vs. #2 St. Thomas Aquinas automatically advances to the finals.

The winners of each regional bracket will advance to the 2024 NCAA Women's Tennis Championship Finals, which will take place May 20-24 at Sanlando Park in Altamonte Springs, Florida. Rollins College and the Greater Orlando Sports Commission will serve as hosts.
