2019 Season Preview: Women's Triathlon Looks to Build on Inaugural Season Successes in Year 2

The St. Thomas Aquinas College Women's Triathlon team returns to action, after a very successful inaugural campaign last season. In 2018, the Spartans qualified for both the USA Triathlon/NCAA East Regional Championship and the National Championship in their first season of existence.

STAC returns seven of eight triathletes from their 2018 championship run, including; Sylvie Bischof (So./Melbourne, Australia), Mary Dristle (Jr./Skaneateles Falls, NY), Stefania Georgiou (So./Nicosia, Cyprus), Kristie Hanlon (So./New City, NY), Jennyfer Huerta (Sr./New Rochelle, NY), Tyiana Nunez (Sr./Westwood, NJ) and Jadyn Vargas (Jr./Monroe, NY). Meanwhile, lone newcomer Georgina Thomatos (Fr.) makes her way to Sparkill from Cape Town, South Africa, as Thomatos brings a wealth of talent and experience on the triathlon scene.

Head Coach George Erzao will once again be at the helm for the Spartans in 2019-2020. Erazo will welcome a former Spartan Triathlete in Amber Lubaszka (2018) onto his staff, as Lubaszka will fill the role of Assistant Coach this season.

STAC will open the new season on September 7th at the Hartford Marathon Foundation Women's Triathlon in Farmington, CT.
