Beaver Falls, Pa. - The St. Thomas Aquinas College Women's Triathlon team opened its 2022-2023 season at the Inaugural Beaver Tri Cup in the Keystone State on Saturday, September 10.
"Successes and learning opportunities" is how Coach Jeff Boyer described the Spartans day on the course.
Hanna Jung had a great start to her race, but was feeling under the weather, and had to end her day before the bike. Jung was in the top 20 at the time with a great chance of finishing in the top 15.
Phoebe Hemmerling also had an excellent start, and had a technically smooth race. Hemmerling accomplished the goals that were set for her with an eye on continuing to improve on her way to Regionals in October.
STAC's next race is right in our backyard, the Toughman Northeast Collegiate Triathlon, at Lake Welch Beach in Stony Point, N.Y. on Saturday, September 24.
