Spartans Wrap Up Western New York Road Trip, Falling At Daemen 3-0

Amherst, N.Y. - The St. Thomas Aquinas College Women's Volleyball team concluded its Western New York road trip with a 3-0 defeat to Daemen University on Sunday morning at Lumsden Gymnasium.

STAC falls to 3-11 overall and 1-7 within the ECC, as Daemen improves to a league best 18-5 and 8-0.

Daemen out-hit STAC 51 to 21 on the day, and posted a .318 hitting percentage while holding the Spartans to hitting just .106 this afternoon.

Inside the Box Score

  • Junior right side Jaizahir Marrero-George finished with four kills and six errors on 37 attacks. The Carolina, Puerto Rico native also added three digs to her stat line.
  • Freshman middle blocker Lorielys Ruiz totaled five kills and three digs in the match.
  • Freshman outside hitter/right side Natassia Romanoff finished with four kills and one error on 14 attacks. She also recorded two services aces and a block.
  • Junior setter Lea Venghaus tallied 18 assists (6.0 assists/set), eight digs. Junior libero Aurivette Santos Bonilla also posted a team-high 14 digs (3.5 digs/set).
