Buffalo, N.Y. - Playing the first of back-to-back matches in Western New York to open their East Coast Conference schedule, the St. Thomas Aquinas College Women's Volleyball team suffered a 3-0 loss to D'Youville University on Saturday afternoon at the Saints Center.
STAC falls to 4-7 overall and 0-1 in ECC play, while D'Youville moves to 4-9 and 1-0.

How it Happened
- As a team, D'Youville recorded 37 kills compared to STAC's 18. The Saints also had 4 blocks and 36 assists, while the Spartans tallied no blocks and 18 assists.
- D'Youville outhit STAC by a .440 to -.044 margin for the match.
- Evie Paalman (Laren Gelderland, Netherlands) paced the Spartans offense with a team-high five kills on Saturday. She also registered one assist, one service ace and five digs.
- Anna Gazzerro (Padova, Italy) tallied 10 serve assists (3.33 assists/set). Gazzerro also accumulated three service aces and four digs for the maroon and gold.
- Lea Venghaus (Muenster, Germany) picked up one kill, six assists and two digs.
- Greta Santini (Reggio Emilia, Italy) tallied four kills, a service ace and seven digs on the afternoon.
- Isis Barrett (Nyack, N.Y.) put together a two kill, one service ace and one dig effort.
