Spartan Cross Country Teams Take Top Spots Among Division II Competitors at Fordham Fiasco

On Saturday, the St. Thomas Aquinas Cross Country program competed at the Fordham University Fiasco/Ed Joyce Memorial. Both squads finished first among the field of Division II competitors participating in the respective races at Van Cortland Park in Bronx, NY and seventh overall in event.

For the men, Aidan Russell was the top finisher on the day with a time of 27:44.60 (18th place). Following Russell in order of finish were: Daniel Agostinho-Vides (28:15.70), Kyle Kondracki (28:26.08), Matt Tina (28:50.31), Zach Faljean (29:04.55), Hugh Durcan (30:03.41), Jack Terry-Kantor (31:57.77), Patrick Gunn (32:39.85) and Stefan Saeed (32:43.00).

Meanwhile, Abagaile Kimbrell was the top women's finisher on the afternoon with a time of 20:00.34 (20th place). Following Kimbrell in order of finish were: Gabriella Mott (21:37.00), Aida Torpey (21:43.12), Kayla Cobelli (22:08.06), Shannon Thompson (22.48.95), Laura Herbes (23:03.55) and Samantha Biss (24:58.38).

The Spartans will next compete at the New York Institute of Technology Invitational in Old Westbury, NY. The men's 8K meet will begin at 10 am, with the women's 5K event slated to begin at 11 am.
