STAC Cross Country Sweeps Men's & Women's Races at Golden Eagle Invitational

The St. Thomas Aquinas Cross Country program took a pair of first place finishes in the men's and women's races at the St. Joseph's College Golden Eagle Invitational on Saturday afternoon at Bethpage State Park in Bethpage, NY. 

For the women's 5k, Abagaile Kimbrell was the top finisher on the afternoon with a time of 18:12.2 (1st place). Following Kimbrell in order of finish were: Aida Torpey (18:43.3/3rd place), Gabriella Mott (19:27.4/4th place), Laura Herbes (19:42.6/9th place), Shannon Thompson (20:03.9) and Jenna Borenkoff (22:22.0).

Meanwhile, for the men's 8k, Aidan Russell was the top finisher on the day with a time of 26:40.1 (1st place). Following Russell in order of finish were: Daniel Agostinho-Vides (27:19.7/6th place), Matt Tina (27:25.9/9th place), Kyle Kondracki (27:29.9/10th place), Hugh Durcan (28:49.9) and Patrick Gunn (31:15.2).

The Spartans will now begin preparations for the East Coast Conference Cross Country Championships, which take place on Saturday, October 26th at New York Institute of Technology. Events begin at 10am in Old Westbury, NY.
