Spartan Cross Country Teams Compete at NCAA East Regional, Kimbrell Qualifies for National Championships

The St. Thomas Aquinas College Cross Country program competed in the 2019 NCAA Division II East Region Championships, hosted by Jefferson University at Belmont Plateau in Philadelphia, PA on Saturday. The women's squad took an 11th overall finish, while the men's team finished 12th overall.

In addition, Abagaile Kimbrell qualified to compete in the upcoming NCAA Division II National Championships, which take place on November 23rd in Sacramento, California. Kimbrell was selected to represent St. Thomas Aquinas College as an individual competitor by virtue of her 10th place overall ranking at the regional race.

For the women's 6K, Abagaile Kimbrell was the top finisher with a time of 23:01.7. Following Kimbrell in order of finish were: Gabriella Mott (24:23.0), Aida Torpey (24:47.5), Laura Herbes (25:32.7), Shannon Thompson (25:48.4) and Kayla Cobelli (25:51.7).

Meanwhile, in the men's 10K, Aidan Russell was the top finisher on the day with a time of 33:53.8. Following Russell in order of finish were: Daniel Agostinho-Vides (34:04.8), Matt Tina (34:17.6), Kyle Kondracki (35:05.7), Zack Faljean (37:26.8) and Patrick Gunn (38:07.3).
